Terms of use

Not medical or emergency care

Nēr offers spiritual formation content, journaling tools, and wellness practices. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical, psychological, or psychiatric care, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional. It cannot dispatch emergency help. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number or 988 in the US — see crisis resources.

The AI companion has limits

The companion is software. It can be wrong, it does not speak for God, and it is not a pastor or clinician. Weigh what it says against Scripture and people who know you. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, or financial decisions.

The therapist directory

Listings are provided for information. Nēr does not employ, supervise, or endorse any clinician, receives no payment for referrals, and cannot guarantee licensure status at the moment you read a listing. Verify credentials with your state licensing board before beginning care.

Your account

• Keep your password private and let us know if you suspect misuse.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for the content you write and share.

Community and church features

When you join a group or connect a church, you agree to treat other people's words as confidential. Church leaders who use pastoral features agree not to use aggregate data to identify, pressure, or discipline a member — attempting to identify a member from aggregate data violates these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use Nēr to harass or endanger anyone, to impersonate another person, to scrape or resell content, or to attempt to access records that are not yours. We may suspend accounts that put other members at risk.

Membership and invitations

Your first 30 days of membership are free, starting when your verified account first signs in after membership opens. No card is required and no charge starts automatically. After free time ends, you can choose a $5 USD monthly web subscription. It renews until you cancel; checkout displays taxes and the final total. Apple purchases use the price and renewal terms shown by Apple.

A new person who joins through your invitation, verifies their email, and signs in earns you 30 additional days, once per new account. Self-referrals, fabricated accounts, resale of codes, spam, and misleading invitations are prohibited. We may remove rewards obtained through abuse. A qualifying invitation does not give you access to another person's information or automatically connect you.

If you have an active paid subscription, referral days are banked until it ends. They do not cancel renewal or refund a payment. Manage or cancel renewal in Membership for web purchases, or in Apple subscriptions for Apple purchases. Access continues through the confirmed paid period. Statutory cancellation and refund rights are unaffected; Apple handles refunds for Apple purchases.

When membership ends, your saved records, privacy settings, export and account deletion remain accessible, as do the public Bible reader and crisis resources. Account deletion is permanent. Cancel an Apple subscription separately before deleting your account.

Optional project support

Contributions help fund development and hosting. They are voluntary, one-time unless explicitly described otherwise at purchase, give no additional app access, and are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations. You never need to give in order to belong or receive respectful treatment.

Content ownership

Your writing is yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store and display it back to you, and to send it where you explicitly direct it. Nēr’s original software, editorial content, and branding are reserved to their respective rights holders. You receive permission to use the service personally; unauthorized redistribution, resale, or copying of protected materials is prohibited, subject to applicable law. Scripture and public-domain material are not owned by Nēr. Third-party materials keep their own licenses. No ownership of a general idea or of your writing is claimed.

Availability and changes

We aim for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change features, and we will give notice of material changes to these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

Liability

Nēr is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
